Upon arriving in Furano, visit Ningle terrace, to explore the charming cottages housing local artisans’ handicrafts, woodwork, and art pieces, perfect for souvenirs or gifts. Next, proceed to nearby Furano Cheese Factory to learn about cheese-making processes and sample a variety of delicious cheeses produced locally. Enjoy a light lunch or snack at the factory’s cafe featuring cheese-based dishes. If time allows and you’re interested, visit the Furano Winery to taste local wines and learn about winemaking in Hokkaido. In the summer, Farm Tomita (Lavender Farm) is famous for its breathtaking lavender fields (best in bloom from late June to early August).
