Arrival in Hoshino Resort
Departing from Sapporo and arrival
We departed from Sapporo around 9 am in the morning by using a private charter from this site. We arrived around 12pm in Hoshino Resort Tomamu the Tower Hotel. It took around 2 or 3 hours from Sapporo to The Tower Hotel. There were a long line of overseas tourists trying to check in the moment we arrived, it took around 20 minutes for us to finally be able to check in. After you check in, make sure to check the free welcome drink!
After putting all of our luggage in our room, we proceeded to the indoor pool inside the resort area. There was a big blizzard during our stay, but the resort has a free shuttle bus going to each spot inside the resort. The temperature inside the indoor pool is maintained to room temperature, but it was still too chilly for me to swim so I just ended up inside the hot bath onsen all the time.
Ice Village in Hoshino Resort
After enjoying the indoor pool, we ate some dinner in our room to be able to check the Ice Village as soon as possible. After finishing our dinner, we proceeded to the Ice Village immediately. It was definitely a must-visit place in the resort!
Snowboarding in Hoshino Resort
After exploring the magical ice village the previous night, on the next day, we rented some snowboarding gears and proceed to the slope! None of us is professional snowboarder, so it was quite painful in the beginning since we fell a lot. But it took me around 15 minutes to finally be able to learn the basic of snowboarding, at least turning and braking.
Exploring Tomamu The Tower Hotel
Even though our buttocks were in pain and our bodies are exhausted from the snowboarding, we still had some energy left, so we decided to explore the resort area for a bit! Some buildings in the resort area are connected through glass tunnel, so you can stay warm while exploring the place!
