Cat Cafe Otaru: Meow Legend
It was Sunday afternoon and we decided to visit Otaru with our friends. Apparently our friends have another friend who is running a cat cafe in Otaru, so we decided to pay visit to her cafe. Apparently it was the only cat cafe in Otaru during the time of our visit. I have been to many different cat cafe before, but this one left the best impression so far!
- Visit Date: 2026 August 16th
- Address: 〒047-0031 Hokkaido, Otaru, Ironai, 1 Chome−10−5 メゾンド色内 一階
- Entrance Fee: free and paid area available
There is a big parking lot next to the cafe, so finding parking spot was not a big problem. The English name of the cat cafe is MEOW LEGEND.

The owner, Ms. SA from Hongkong immediately greeted us with warm smile and let us inside. My wife has cat allergy so she could only stay in the free area 🙁 . There is also a one-day pass package in which you can enter and come back anytime during the business hour during the day you purchase it. This one-day pass is recommended if you need a place to crash and rest with cute cats in case you are exhausted from exploring Otaru. Oh and there is a locker in which you can use it to store your items. Totally recommended (if you do not have cat allergy of course)!

The free area of this cat cafe is also really cute; there are some hand-paintings of cats and other cat-related artworks in which you can purchase. You can also peek inside the paid area from this free area.

The paid area is definitely worth exploring if you love cats. There are many cute cats roaming around in which you can play with while enjoying hot or cold drinks. Ms. Sa really designed this place really well!

Of course, there are some cat toys in which you can use them to play with the cats.

Ms. Sa loves her cats equally! Especially this one!

I tried playing with one of the cats….but I was ignored. Until I brought a toy.

Here are some other pictures from the Meow Legend Cat Cafe.

Apparently the most popular cat in this cat cafe is a DOG!

Here is the most popular “cat” of MEOW LEGEND; Kuro-chan, a 12-years old Shiba Inu Dog who has been loyally accompanying Ms. Sa since he was a puppy!

This cat cafe is definitely worth a visit if you like cats (or dog), even if you are not interested in cats, it is highly recommended to purchase day pass in this cafe to store your items and to have a temporary place to rest if you are exhausted from exploring Otaru.
